Wig’s Word of God Today 12-12-2010
This is the One about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of You; he will prepare Your way before You.’ Matthew 11:10
Isaiah 35:1-6a, 10, Psalm 146:6-7, 8-9, 9-10., James 5:7-10 & Matthew 11:2-11
Isaiah speaks of such wonder with flowers blooming, parch land becoming rich and full while rejoicing and singing displays strength in the weak telling the frightened to fear not for their God will exult them. Many of us are frightened by what we experience each and every day. Families being destroyed because of drugs and sexual promiscuity. Children living in the streets while perhaps thousands of high-rise apartments go unlived in. There is something dreadfully wrong in our culture today when we allow our nation to be driven by Mass Media and sinful philosophical ideas. There is such a need for everyone to stand up and bond our love of God together to strive for the common good. Many have become complacent but there is a solution: Jesus Christ.
As I walked yesterday towards an abortion clinic to pray with several people from 7-9 AM and began to cross the street, I looked down and noticed a pink baby doll lying in the street so I leaned down and picked it up. I had this overwhelming sense of irony as I sat and held the baby as we prayed in front of the building where its address is 6660 and countless babies have been murdered there in years past. I reflected on a poem I wrote titled, “Thrown Away in a Bin” thinking the babies might as well be thrown away in the streets without a care in the world. I learned later this baby had been tied to another baby and thrown over a palm branch in front of the clinic as a symbol of the death occurring there. Tears began to well up in eyes as I thought, “How many of these children being killed here today would have been doctors who cured cancer or could have been president?” What have we allowed to happen all these years here in America? Genocide of our own society?
The Book of James reminds us to be patient for the coming of the Lord while learning to live in harmony with one another not speaking ill of anyone and certainly not judging anyone. James reminds also to reflect on those Prophets and people who took upon themselves the hardships of proclaiming their love of Christ to their ultimate death. As it was written in the Old Testament of Malachi 3:1: “Lo, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me; And suddenly there will come to the temple the LORD whom you seek, And the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Yes, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts.” In loving your love of Christ, you stay steadfast for the coming of the Lord in faith, hope, patience and love.
And so we pray: Heavenly Father, we continue our nine days of prayer for Jhaysonn’s healing and peace. We pray today especially for those who are homeless, out of work and addicted to drugs. May this season of Yours Son’s birthday be filled faith, hope, charity and love. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Of Christ Who Is and Shall Be
The Glory of God will sing
Patience of love to bring
Salvation for the steadfast in love
The Truth descending from above
Be patient and kind my friends
Not vengeance of a neighbor or kin
Firm and repentant to win
Freedom from hatred and sin
The lame have walked
The blind can see
Faith in the Truth
Of Christ Who Is and shall Be
